Fillings

  • Fillings are used to replace tooth structure that has been removed due to decay or other pathology. Fillings are used when there is enough healthy tooth structure remaining to support the restorative material. Composite restorations (tooth colored fillings) are the most commonly used material in our office, however, there are some instances when we place amalgam restorations (silver colored fillings). Both types of material have their advantages, and we would be glad to discuss them with you.

Extractions

  • We offer extractions in our office, but we also utilize a specialist in the area for more complicated cases. Our goal is to relieve your pain in the safest, fastest, and most efficient way.

Root Canals

  • There are many reasons that a root canal may need to be performed (deep decay, cracked tooth, etc.). A small access is made into the pulp (nerve) of the tooth, and then a series of files is used to clean and shape the canals of the tooth. Once the canals have been properly cleaned and shaped a thermoplastic material is used to seal the canals. After a root canal, a crown and sometimes a post are placed on the tooth to protect it from fracturing in the future.

Night Guards

  • Occlusal Guards, also known as Night Guards, are used to protect your teeth and joints from the damaging effects of clenching and grinding. Patients that wake up with a sore jaw, experience frequent headaches, and/or have multiple areas of chipped or worn teeth are all experiencing signs of clinching or grinding.
