Gum Recession
Gingival recession, also known as receding gums, occurs when your gum tissue moves away from the crown of the tooth and exposes the root surface. Gum recession is a common problem in adults, but it may also occur in a teenager or even younger child. Recession is a sign of bone loss around the tooth in the area that the gum has migrated away from. Gum grafting is the treatment of choice to correct and prevent further gum recession. Our office most often recommends the Alloderm Gum Grafting technique.

Since its introduction to dentistry in 1997, AlloDerm Regenerative Tissue Matrix has been a widely accepted acellular dermal matrix for soft tissue applications. AlloDerm supports tissue regeneration by allowing rapid revascularization, white cell migration and cell population. It ultimately transforms into host tissue for a strong, natural repair.
